Join Oregon Dunes Restoration Collaborative (ODRC) members, Armand Rebischke and Dina Pavlis, at the Oregon Dunes Day Use Area on July 16th from 9:00 to 11:00 AM for a guided hike on the beautiful Oregon dunes. The hike will provide a chance to learn about the history, geology, topography, plants and wildlife of the Oregon dunes. As part of Power of Florence, the Oregon Dunes Restoration Collaborative is sponsoring a Scotch broom removal event at Heceta Dunes. This event is on Saturday, July 22 from 10 AM to Noon. Volunteers are needed to continue our efforts to remove invasive Scotch broom from one of our "Protect the Best" sites. Bring shovels, loppers, or small hand saws if you have them, or if you don't, we will have some tools you can borrow. Calling all Dunes Volunteers! Come join the Oregon Dunes Restoration Collaborative and Lane County Parks on Saturday, December 2 to remove invasive Scotch broom and small trees from the Three Mile Prairie County Park in Florence, OR. This event will take place from 10 a.m. to Noon. The Three Mile Prairie site provides good habitat for dunes-adapted native plants and wildlife, but is threatened by invasive weeds and vegetation. Three Mile Prairie County Park is located just north of Florence Golf Links and west of Hwy 101 at Fred Meyer. It is a 15 minute walk from the northwest corner of the Fred Meyer parking lot to the work site over some sand and fairly level ground.
