Calling all Dunes Volunteers! Come join the Oregon Dunes Restoration Collaborative and Lane County Parks on Saturday, December 2 to remove invasive Scotch broom and small trees from the Three Mile Prairie County Park in Florence, OR. This event will take place from 10 a.m. to Noon. The Three Mile Prairie site provides good habitat for dunes-adapted native plants and wildlife, but is threatened by invasive weeds and vegetation.

Three Mile Prairie County Park is located just north of Florence Golf Links and west of Hwy 101 at Fred Meyer. It is a 15 minute walk from the northwest corner of the Fred Meyer parking lot to the work site over some sand and fairly level ground.

Bring closed-toe shoes, work gloves, water, and snacks. Dress for the forecasted weather – it could be a bit rainy and/or breezy. If you have shovels, hand saws, and/or loppers, please bring them with you. We will also have a limited amount of tools that you can borrow.

Directions: From the intersection of Hwys 126 and 101 in Florence, drive north 2.3 miles and turn west into the Fred Meyer parking lot at the Fred Meyer gas station. Drive past the gas pumps and go to the northwest corner of the parking lot towards the dunes in the back. Event leaders will meet you there.
