Join the Oregon Dunes Restoration Collaborative and Oregon State University (OSU) on May 20th to remove invasive Scotch broom from the Oregon Dunes Day Use Area. We will be working from 10 a.m. - noon with an optional field trip to the beach following the work session to see restoration efforts and snowy plover nesting areas. (Please note: Dogs are not allowed on or near the beach due to the nesting plovers. Dogs on a leash are allowed in the open sand dunes where the weed pulling will take place.) The Oregon Dunes Restoration Collaborative (ODRC) is encouraging our volunteers to take advantage of a great opportunity to learn about the dunes and join with volunteers from the Siuslaw Watershed Council, the University of Oregon and other organizations. The tour and work will occur at the Oregon Dunes Day Use Area, which is located on the west side of Highway 101 near mile marker 201. The site is approximately 11 miles south of Florence, a right turn off Highway 101 just beyond the 201 mile marker; The event is free and open to the public.  There may be free parking [...]
