30 Day Public Comment Period on Dunes Restoration

The Siuslaw National Forest has released a draft Environmental Assessment (EA) of proposed dune restoration activities.  To view the full EA and to make any comments, please click here to visit the Forest Service announcement.

Site specific comments and recommendations are important to contribute.  Click here to view the maps of proposed restoration areas.  You can find the original proposal maps found under the “Assessment” tab, and the revised proposal maps under the “Analysis” tab.  There are three distinct sections for the North, Central, and South regions of the ODNRA.

Cooperative Weed Management Area (CWMA)

A Cooperative Weed Management Area is a partnership between federal, state, and local agencies, tribes, nonprofit organizations, and individuals formed to address noxious weeds and invasive plants within a defined area.

The Oregon Dunes CWMA is one of 27 in the state, and encompasses the entirety of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area.
