Join the Oregon Dunes Restoration Collaborative work party to remove Scotch broom at the Sandtracks Picnic Area on Horsfall Rd., Saturday, August 22 from 10AM to Noon. It will be a short walk to where we will be working and on level to moderately sloping terrain. The day use fees at the site will be waived for the volunteers working at this event.

There is a maximum of 20 people who can attend. So it is important for you to email Brian Saunders, ODRC staff person, at brian@eugenecascadescoast.org if you plan to attend and let him know how many people are in your group.

PLEASE NOTE: We will need to stay at least 6 feet apart while working and wear face coverings in the parking area. Once we are away from the parking area, the face coverings won’t be necessary as long as we stay at least 6 feet apart.

BRING: If at all possible, bring your own tools and gloves. There are a variety of different size broom plants so saws, loppers and shovels will work. A hat, long pants, and sturdy, closed-toe boots or shoes are recommended. Bring your own drinking water and hand sanitizer. If you need tools, let Brian know when you email him. ODRC has tools and gloves that can be borrowed if you need them.

DIRECTIONS: From North Bend, go North on Hwy. 101 across McCullough Bridge. Turn Left on Transpacific Hwy. Go approximately one mile and turn Right on Horsfall Rd. Go approximately one mile and turn Left into the Sandtracks Picnic Area.
