Come celebrate Oregon Dunes Restoration Collaborative's 100th Volunteer Event!!! We need your help pulling Scotch broom at the Oregon Dunes Day Use Area, Saturday, May 11 starting at 10 AM. We will be pulling broom for approximately an hour, then there will be a guided hike from 11 to 12:15 led by local author and dunes interpretative guide, Dina Pavlis! Join Oregon Dunes Restoration Collaborative (ODRC) members, Armand Rebischke and Dina Pavlis, at the Oregon Dunes Day Use Area on July 16th from 9:00 to 11:00 AM for a guided hike on the beautiful Oregon dunes. The hike will provide a chance to learn about the history, geology, topography, plants and wildlife of the Oregon dunes. Join the Oregon Dunes Restoration Collaborative and Oregon State University (OSU) on May 20th to remove invasive Scotch broom from the Oregon Dunes Day Use Area. We will be working from 10 a.m. - noon with an optional field trip to the beach following the work session to see restoration efforts and snowy plover nesting areas. The Oregon Dunes Restoration Collaborative (ODRC) is encouraging our volunteers to take advantage of a great opportunity to learn about the dunes and join with volunteers from the Siuslaw Watershed Council, the University of Oregon and other organizations. The tour and work will occur at the Oregon Dunes Day Use Area, which is located on the west side of Highway 101 near mile marker 201. The site is approximately 11 miles south of Florence, a right turn off Highway 101 just beyond the 201 mile marker; The event is free and open to the public.  There may be free parking [...]
