Please join us as we gather once more for a final weed pull for the 2022 season. Plan to meet at Oregon Dunes Day Use Area at 10 AM Saturday October 22nd to pull scotch broom that is encroaching a seasonal wet land. Volunteers are needed for this event as it was noticed during our ecology tour that a seasonal wet land is becoming encroached with scotch broom. Right now is the perfect time to tackle these small plants as they will likely overtake the wet land area if nothing is done.

Directions: From Florence follow Highway 101 south for 12 miles, turn right into Oregon Dunes Day Use Area.  From Reedsport follow Highway 101 north for about 12 miles turn left into Oregon Dunes Day Use Area. We will meet in the main parking area.

Limited tools will be provided.  These are smaller scotch broom that we are targeting for this weed pull, so mostly hand pulling will work.  We do have pullerbears, loppers, shovels, and hand saws for volunteers that would like to borrow for the day to pull and remove larger broom.  Bring gloves, good walking shoes, water, snacks, and sunscreen.  If you have any questions email us at saveoregondunes@gmail.com.
