Join the Oregon Dunes Restoration Collaborative to remove Scotch Broom at the Sandtracks Picnic Area on Horsfall Road on Saturday, March 6th from 10:00AM-Noon. It will be a short walk to where we will be working and on level to moderately sloping terrain. The day use fees at the site will be waived for the volunteers at this event.

There is a maximum of 20 people who can attend so it is important to email Brian Saunders, ODRC Outreach Coordinator, at brian@eugenecascadescoast.org if you plan on attending. Also be sure to let him know how many people are in your group.

PLEASE NOTE: We will need to stay at least 6 feet apart while working and wear face coverings in the parking area. Once we are away from the parking area, the face coverings won’t be necessary as long as we stay at least 6 feet apart.

BRING: If at all possible, bring your own tools and gloves. The best tools for this work party will be hand saws or a reciprocating saw. Loppers and shovels will work for the smaller broom plants. A hat, long pants, and sturdy closed-toe shoes or boots are recommended. Bring your own drinking water and hand sanitizer. If you need tools, let Brian know when you email him. ODRC has tools and gloves that can be borrowed if you need them.

DIRECTIONS: From North Bend, go North on Highway 101 across McCullough Bridge. Turn left on Transpacific Highway. Go approximately one mile and turn right on Horsfall Road. Go approximately one more mile and turn left into the Sandtracks Picnic Area.
