Come join local volunteers and members of the Oregon Dunes Restoration Collaborative remove Scotch broom along the SOUTHEAST edge of Cleawox Lake on Friday, March 30. We will work for 2 hours, but you may leave early if you like. This is an area with young plants, so we have an opportunity to can get them before they go to seed, saving this area from a broom invasion.

If the weather is questionable that day,**CHECK BACK HERE** to confirm we are moving forward. We will mark the event that morning as “Canceled” if the weather makes it impossible to hold the event.

BRING: Loppers, shovels, tree saws, gloves. Long pants and closed-toe shoes recommended as are sunscreen and water. These are taller plants, but thin since they are young, so they should be fairly easy to locate and cut.

Parking fee will be waived for volunteers, but bring your State Parks or Oregon Coast pass if you already have one to simplify things.

Link to Honeyman State Park directions.

Directions: From Florence, take Highway 101 SOUTH to Honeyman State Park…approximately MP 193.5. Turn RIGHT into park. As you enter, fork to the LEFT of the lake (and then stay to the right along the lake edge). You will enter a large parking area. Park as close to the EAST of that parking lot as possible and walk back to the work area (marked with cones).
