Help the Oregon Dunes Restoration Collaborative remove large Scotch broom plants from Alder Dunes on Wednesday, March 25th from 10am to noon. Meet at the Alder Dunes Day Use Area at Alder Dunes Campground. It is about a half mile walk on moderate slopes to where we will be working. If you need to leave early or want to work later, you are welcome to do so. Day-use fees are waived for volunteers at this event. Parking is limited so car pool if you can.
This work party is weather-dependent. If the weather is predicted to be rainy, we will cancel, so check back to this page a day before the event.
BRING: shovels or spades, loppers, tree saws, gloves, and drinking water. Sturdy closed-toe shoes, long pants, and a hat are recommended. A limited number of tools will be available to borrow if you need them.
DIRECTIONS: From Florence, take Highway 101 NORTH. Go past the Sutton Recreation Area and Sutton Lake. Go past Buck Lake RV and Mobile Home Park. Turn LEFT into the Alder Dunes Campground and follow the signs to the Alder Dunes Day Use Area.
